Help create an Art Float for Social Change with friends and neighbors!
We are making this cool parade float to inspire more people to vote this year. It will be presented on Earth Day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades in Marin -- and throughout California this fall, to get out the vote in the midterm election.
Would you like to help build, paint or decorate our community action float? Join us on Thursday evenings from 4 to 9pm -- or Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm.
We're hosting two special day-long float construction and painting parties next week:
• Wed. April 11 - 1pm to 9pm
• Thur. April 12 - 1pm to 9pm
Please RSVP to <firstname.lastname@example.org> Please RSVP to <email@example.com> for more information and directions..
We are building this float at Tam Makers, our makerspace at Tam High School, with a group of over sixty students and community members. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to learn new skills and make new friends!
Our community art project will reach out to youth and people of color through art, music and technology, with an amazing spectacle: a giant earth ball surrounded by waving hands, spinning on a decorated carousel pulled by a colorful dragon with a big vote sign. Participants will be invited to vote, speak up and share their ideas for creating a better world. We hope this will inspire more people to participate actively in democracy.
