Are you going to the Women’s March? Come create your signs, learn new protest songs and make art with us this Sunday, January 14, 2-5pm.
Our first Democracy Cafe workshop will take place at the O'Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley. We’ll have free art supplies, food, drinks — though you are encouraged to bring your own for this potluck community event.
We only have room for 40 people, so get your free ticket now:
(Donations are welcome, if you would like to help pay for this event.)
Here’s our program for this community art workshop:
- 2pm - make your own signs, decorate Liberty cut-outs
- 3pm - practice protest songs with the Freedom Singers
- 4pm - discuss Women’s March and our next Democracy Cafe
- 5pm - workshop ends
You are welcome to come anytime, and pick the activity that best suits you.
Join your neighbors to make political art -- and keep democracy alive!
We plan to host more Democracy Cafes, on the third Sunday of each month. Each event will focus on a diffferent theme, such as Youth, Black or Latino culture.
We think making art, music and talking with your neighbors can can bring folks closer to each other, across different cultures -- and engage us to take meaningful action together.
To join future events, email the MVCAN Events Team at firstname.lastname@example.org .
