Get-Out-The-Vote Activities--Final Four Days (Nov 3 to 6)

If you haven’t had the opportunity to help out yet, the last four days of the campaign is critical. It’s not too late to make a difference. If you’re already working, this is the time to finish the job.

There will be canvassing and phone/text banking all four days for key midterm races in several places. The goal is to make sure Democratic voters know their polling place, have a plan to vote and, if vote-by-mail, have returned their ballot.

In order to win control of the House, the Democrats must win at least 13 of 32 toss-up races. Experts agree that turnout primarily will determine who wins these seats. For the Senate, turnout also will be the determinant of how several Democrats fare, which most likely will mean the difference between a net gain or a net loss of seats.

In our region, Josh Harder’s race for Congress against incumbent Republican Jeff Denham continues to be rated as toss-up, as does Jacky Rosen’s contest in Nevada with incumbent Republican Senator Dean Heller. In Marin County, we have the opportunity to elect a real progressive--Anna Pletcher--to the important position of District Attorney.

For activities which involve traveling to nearby Central Valley locations or Reno, we will help form carpools, and, if you wish to stay overnight in any of these locations or Las Vegas, provide you with information about lodging options.
