MIDTERM VOLUNTEER WEEKLY BULLETIN

This is the sixth issue of the Midterm Volunteer Weekly Bulletin! You are receiving this email because you expressed interest in MVCAN’s activities in support of key midterm races. We will continue to produce this bulletin every Wednesday through Election Day. The Bulletin will provide information about upcoming phone/text banks and door-to-door canvasses, along with training opportunities, and links for signing up for these events.


FIRST: ACTIVITIES FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS

               

Canvassing

Canvass for Anna Pletcher for Marin DA
Sat Sep 22, starting at 9:30 am, Whole Foods (414 Miller Avenue)
Please RSVP to petergraumann@yahoo.com .

We will meet-up in front of Whole Foods (414 Miller Ave) then spread out to cover specific neighborhoods. Expect to canvass for 2 hours. First timers are welcome! We will pair up experienced canvassers with newer folks.   Bring a charged mobile phone because you will be downloading an app that guides your route and records the results.

We are partnering with Josh Harder's campaign. Signing-up with the Harder campaign lets them know that you are coming and they will send you important information. Filling out the additional form at the MVCAN link lets us know that you are attending, and if you want to carpool and/or want us to pair you with another MVCAN member as a canvassing partner. Training will be provided at the beginning of the Modesto canvass event.

As always, the Electoral Team’s experienced leaders will  help coach you through the process individually. If you're new to calling or texting voters, they will teach you step-by-step. Please bring your charged cell phone and a laptop, ipad or tablet, and earbuds with a mic to the phone/text bank. The Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday phone/text banks recur every week.

Spanish For Activists

To turn out our voters this November, we must effectively reach out to our Latinx community. For those of you who have a working knowledge of Spanish (you can be rusty but not beginners) two of our leaders who are fluent Spanish Speakers will train you in electoral vocabulary and phrases to use while calling or canvassing.

Upcoming Canvassing, save the dates - details to follow:

  • Reno October 20 - 21 Canvass for Jacky Rosen for Senate: We will depart for Reno on Sat morning for arrival at noon. Canvassing on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, leaving Reno late Sunday afternoon. Travel together in vans and carpools. Staying together in local hotel, and group dinner on Saturday night.  Email czimmerman@thesagegroup.com for information.
