CALL TODAY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!! Call Our State Assemblyman Marc Levine, who has not yet taken a public stand, at 916 319-2010 to urge him to vote for SB 100. Say you’re from MVCAN. It only takes a few minutes! More info here.

Sign Our Petition to Impeach Donald Trump

Tell your elected officials that it is time for Donald Trump to be censured and removed from office. The Case Against Trump is strong. He has put America last by promoting his self-interest over national interests; betraying our democracy, endangering the health and welfare of our middle class and most vulnerable; jeopardizing our national security, violating our constitution; and proving he is morally UNFIT to lead.

TELL OUR ASSEMBLYMAN MARC LEVINE YOU’RE FROM MVCAN AND YOU WANT HIM TO SUPPORT THE HOUSING PACKAGE!

To date Marc Levine has been, at best, soft on his support for these bills.
CALL 916-319- 2010 or 415-479-4920 HERE’S WHAT TO SAY: I am calling to ask you to please support SB 2 (Atkins) & SB 3 (Beall) as part of the housing package legislators are taking up. SB 2 & SB 3 provide critical funding to get new, affordable developments going for families, veterans and seniors in need. Today, 1 in 3 families can’t afford their rent. And SB 2 & SB 3 are what we need to bring relief to the housing crisis hammering our community. Governor Brown and the Legislative leaders have put forward this package which includes a bond measure and a $75 fee for real estate transactions that goes towards affordable housing. For more info go to: nonprofithousing.org
Thank You!

  • Actual or possible changes to DACA

  • Common issues/concerns for students and families
  • Know your Rights information

No registration is required to attend. Spanish-language translation will be available.

Patriot Prayer Protest

protest.jpg

On August 26th as people are driving into San Francisco to attend the "Patriot Prayer" protest, they will see huge banners denouncing racism and white supremacy hanging from at least three overpasses.  MVCan members will be holding the banners at the Seminary pedestrian overpass.  We need people to help make the banners this Thursday night, then at least ten people to come out to wave them on Saturday morning.  This action is planned in coordination with Indivisible Sausalito.

BANNER MAKING will take place on Thursday, August 24th at 7pm at the First United Methodist Church of San Rafael, 9 Ross Valley Road, San Rafael CA.

WAVING THE BANNERS will begin at 10am on Saturday, 26 August.  We will decide on the spot how long to keep them up.

PARKING: We can park in the parking lot of the Robata Grill, 591 Redwood Highway, Mill Valley, Ca 94941.  Redwood Highway is the frontage road on the west side of 101.

SUMMER OF LOVE PERMITS WERE DENIED AS ’TOO DANGEROUS.’ TELL THE PARK SERVICE TO DENY PERMIT FOR NAZI RALLY

Wag3.jpg

The National Park Service official channel for commenting on Crissy Field proposed permits is apparently jammed. But there are other ways to tell the NPS to say no to Nazis.

According to Fabrice Florin, “Both KQED and SFGate cite Golden Gate National Recreation Area Acting Director Cicely Muldoon, who said in a statement Wednesday that a final determination on the permit would be made by the end of next week, one day before the planned Aug. 26 rally.

“So it sounds like they are rethinking and soliciting comments until the last minute, before making a final decision. From that standpoint, it makes sense to keep emailing them until they reach the decision to cancel.”

Thanks to Resist SF  - here are a bunch of other ways to communicate with the NPS in San Francisco.

ACTION: Call or email these National Park Service officials and ask them to to revoke their permit because racism and hate speech which incites violence must not have a platform in our public parks ... especially as Summer of Love permits were denied as "too dangerous."
