MVCAN MONTHLY MEETING ON LOCAL ELECTIONS - Sunday, Jan 12 - 4pm - 5:30pm (note earlier start) Mill Valley Community Center

We have an exciting launch meeting planned on Sunday, Jan 12, which will serve as a forum for 2020 Marin/Mill Valley elections for city and county officials. A number of local candidates will be addressing issues that MVCAN members find pressing, such as affordable housing, local environmental initiatives, and immigrant protections.

The next election is around the corner on March 3! This is a chance to get to know the candidates.

Most importantly, please SHOW UP to demonstrate to our future elected officials that MVCAN represents many voters that support our values and issues! Getting a big turnout crowd at the meeting will demonstrate to the candidates that MVCAN has the dedication and numbers of voters to have a significant and positive impact on local government.

FLIPPIN' ARIZONA - TRAVEL TO PHOENIX TO CANVASS AND REGISTER VOTERS - Feb 15 - 17

Barb, Berta and Corrie at the Phoenix Dem headquarters!
This past October, MVCANers traveled to Arizona with a group of 40 Bay activists. They knocked on 900 - 950 doors and registered 500+ Democrats in 4 days! Arizona is one of the highest priority states to take back the Presidency AND the Senate in 2020.

Note: The 2020 January trip to Phoenix is now full. It’s great to see such an enthusiastic response! You still have an opportunity to sign up for February.

FEBRUARY TRIP - Saturday 15th thru Monday 17th in Phoenix

Our friends at Swing Left are planning a big Presidents’ Day weekend in the Phoenix area. The plan is to canvass and register voters for all three days of the long holiday weekend, with activists from all over the West.

ARIZONA VOTER REGISTRATION TRAINING CALL - Jan 6, 6pm

If you have signed up for a trip to Arizona or if you plan to do so in the future, we highly recommend that you participate in this Jan 6 training on voter registration provided by AZ Field Team 6.

At the end of this call you'll be an expert on registering voters in Arizona! (If you miss this call, you’ll have other opportunities for training when you get to Arizona.)

CANVASSING IN TRACY

2nd and 3rd Saturdays starting Jan 11

We helped Josh Harder flip California's 10th Congressional District in 2018. Now we need your help to make sure it stays flipped in 2020!

Josh is up against 4 Republican challengers and first needs to make the Top 2 in the "jungle primary" March 3, then go on to prevail in the General Election. He will be running against a Republican who will be receiving significant outside funding.

In January and February we will be canvassing in Tracy on the second and third Saturdays of those months, and also likely the last weekend before the March 3, California primary election.

When you sign up below, please also contact Bill Jansen, MVCAN CD-10 Canvassing Coordinator, at billjpolitics@gmail.com or (415) 516-1112, so he can coordinate MVCAN participants and carpools.

MAKE CALLS TO ENSURE A FAIR & OPEN

IMPEACHMENT TRIAL IN THE SENATE

It's critical that the Senate holds a fair and open impeachment trial that allows for the full array of evidence to be presented and considered. That's why we've got to demand that Senators publicly support a fair and open impeachment trial.

Our partners at Indivisible National have set up a program to target swing state officials. Use this form to sign up for a shift making calls to voters in target states to connect them directly to their Senators to make this important ask.
